Default Reverse sensing system promblem PLEASE HELP

Hey guys Ive been to the dealership but its like a bunch of idiots work there and can never order the right part. My problem is when i have the radio on at a normal level and i am in reverse, when the sensors find an obstacle they beep but do not mute the radio level. In the manual it says the parking system should mute the radio to a predetermined level. Can anybody else tell me if their truck mutes the radio a little when the sensors pick up an obstacle. I have an 08 lariat with the 6 disk radio. They have replaced the radio and now are ordering me a parking module. Thanks for the help.

The idiots also scratched the wood trim that goes over the radio. Now i have to make another trip for them to replace that. Always look at the work done to make sure it was done right.

Are you using an aftermarket head unit or factory, if you are using aftermarket make sure it supports the mute function and that it is connected to the factory harness. If you are using the factory radio, it could still be the same issue. But I would start by checking the harness. If I remember correctly the wire should be orange.

As i said in my first post it is the oem radio which was replaced yesterday. I will have the dealership check the harness next since they are going to replace the parking module
