i had my 08 fx4 for a year now and never had the back up camera in the mirror work, all it does is turns blue or once and a while it gos fuzzy then turns off any input would be great

is it factory or after market? You might check the wiring where it ties into the backup lights. Or bad (intermittent) ground.

It sounds like the camera itself is the problem... As long as its triggered by reverse and displaying an image (even fuzz) then the rest of the system is doing its job..

its factory, does anyone know where it may be grounded. tryed throwing it into reverse a few times and the screen would just turn blue for around 3 seconds and turns off

What factory camera are you using? The fixed tailgate camera, or the emblem camera?

If you are getting activity from throwing it into reverse (even a blue or fuzzy image) then there is probably a failure in your completed system. Did the camera go in and out of service before it failed? Of did it just not work correctly one day?

found the problem, last year i noticed the wiring in the back where the harnesss conects was apart so i connected the two ends. i read a previous post by another member on hear about that same plug so i decided to take a look at it and it was extremly rusted up so i cut the ends of and wired it direct and bling, it works
