Question retro-fitting? will this work?

ok well i was just given a chrome westin bull bar w/ lights and all from a friend of mine for the great price of FREE...lol...but the issue is this bull bar came off of a 2003 explorer....so yea its not exactly the right size....but after some measuring that i did it isnt a HUGE difference between the two... the bull bar from mounting hole(where bolts go) to mounting hole is 30.5 inches and the truck from mounting hole to mounting hole is 34 inches....now i no 3.5" is big enough to cause a prob....BUT it seems that if i rotate the brackets on the bull bar and drill holes there that it would just make it....

anyone got any opinions on this? or any helpful advice before i attempt this?

or am i just waisting my time?..lol

Probably wouldn't look perfect. Why not sell the exploder bar and buy a used one for the truck.
