Default Replacing side mirrors 2004-2008

Got my truck cheap. I need to replace the side mirrors. Truck came with power mirrors, but not heated...is it easy/possible to retrofit with heat? Does anyone know a reliable, cheap source for replacement (used) mirrors, such as an RV dealership?

Are there any good threads/resources for doing the job?

Does your truck have the mirror heat button under the radio? You can put tow mirrors on, you might have to move some pins around in the connector. My truck had the tow mirrors on it when I bought it, but the heat never worked, the puddle light never worked, and the indicator light for the mirror heat flashed with the turn signal.
Had to move some pins because the voltage out to the heat didn't connect to the pin on the mirror. The turn signal was using the ground for the heater and there was no power out to the puddle lights. Ran a wire out to the puddle light pin off from the courtesy light circut.
I had to completly disassemble the passenger side mirror in order to figure it all out, but it can be done.

No, but there is a harness behind the lighter panel, on the right side of the lighter socket. Is this the mirror heater harness, or something else, like a rear window motor swith harness? (it is covered over)

I forget what the wire colors are.....someone might be able to tell you if there is only one harnass or if each option has a different one. I will probably have my bezel off tomorrow, I can look at mine and let you know

I will have a set of the standard mirrors with heat FS soon.... FYI.

If you are wired for heat you should be good to go.

Idk what those extra connectors are, optional stuff I guess. On the back of the radio/HVAC bezel there is a black box. This black box is the HVAC contol module. If you want your mirrors to be controlled like they were from the factory, you have to have the module that supports it. BTW, I think the mirror heat is orange @ the 26 pin connector and @ the mirror.

Other than that, you can wire them in with your own harness with a relay and a timer. Or skip the timer and just remember to shut them off!
