Default Replacement Spark Plugs

I recently bout a 2006 XLT Supercab with 41,000 miles. It has the 5.4L motor in it and want to do some preventative maintenance on my truck to ensure I dont have issues down the road with the plugs at 50,000 miles. I realize ford recommends to replace with the motorcraft plugs but are they still a two piece setup right? Looking for some ideas on what everyone is using and and reviews. Thanks in advance!

Yeah Motorcraft SP-515 are a redesigned 2-piece plug but if you put the nickel anti-seize on them when you install them you shouldnt have a problem. Champion makes an alternative plug but there are mixed reviews and tons of info on this site about other plugs as well. Search Away!! haha

The heads are designed for a 2 piece plug. You'd have to redesign part of the engine to fix this issue.

At 50,000 miles you're hitting it real early on. Just make sure when you remove the COPs you get an air hose and spray out the plug chambers real well to get any debris out. Spray some penetrating oil (not much) in and wait a few minutes. You might not even have to do that much.

SP515 plugs replaced the SP507 plugs. A Motorcraft plug box will say SP515 on the outside, but the plug itself will say PZT-14-F, they are the same thing.

This thread has almost everything you will need to know about the 5.4L spark plugs and issues. lots and lots of reading.
I bought the motorcraft SP515 from Orielly for $7.99 each, best deal i have found.
