Default Replace coils when doing plugs

Good Morning,
Going to do my plugs on 08 with 5.4.
Thinking of new COPs while there anyway. Do most folks generally do that? If so, what is the preferred brand? OEM or aftermarket? I have read of Accel brand failing. Prefer to do job once and be good to go (hopefully) for awhile.
Thanks in advance!

If you're not having issues with the COP's (misfire, etc) then just replace the boots and springs. Any brand from your local auto store should do fine.
You can buy a set of 8 coils from either EBay or Amazon which claim to match OEM quality for around 45-60 dollars. I did this, they've lasted for three years so far.
Up to you, really

OEM COP's usually last a long time.. like Scorge said if your not having any problems with them leave them alone.. clean the spring contact on the COP before installing new springs and boots.. do you have Brown or Black Boots ? miles on your motor ?

Not familiar with "springs and boots". Are you referring to just the springs and boots within the COP itself?
Black boots, and just over 100000 miles. May 2008 build date.
Bought truck at 48000 miles, figured time for plugs. Been reading through various posts on the dreaded plug replacement and need to get done.
Also have this occasional/rare stutter or skip during acceleration between 35-50 MPH or so, and several posts I've come across mention plugs, and it is time so this may help.
If the general concensus is coils rarely fail, I'll gladly save the few hundred bucks and do plugs only.

Yeah. It's a boot on the bottom of the COP. It just pops off

if your build date is may 2008 you will have brown boots and require SP509 plugs
