I'm looking to paint my wiper cowl and my mirrors. What paint is everyone using?

Most people tend to use Krylon Fusion in flat or gloss black.

If the cowl is just faded, and you want the factory look back, you can just take a heat gun to it, it will pull the color right back out.

Also, depending on your model, you might have a bolt on the passenger side cowl right where the two meet. Kinda surprised me, cuz my moms xlt did not have one, but my fx4 did.

Nobody looks at the stickies?

Someone on here repainted their cowl using plasti-dip. Four coats and it turned out beautifully. This is the route I am going to take when I finally get around to putting new cowl ends on.

well it seems the photobucket app has gone to ****, so cant post pics lol. never had any luck with the mobile app for this site posting pics also, always gives me errors. working on getting some pics up lol.

i used the Dupli-Color Black Trim spray paint for it (auto-zone didnt have krylon) and i must say, it looks a hella lot better than before lol. put 3 thinish coats on it and looked good. also got my new cowl-ends on, and looks tons better. i highly reccommend doing this if you have a faded cowl.

tips and tricks: on my FX4, there was a screw in the middle holding the passenger side cowl. removing wipers completly is a MUST. there is a little lever and the base of the wiper arm the must be lifted and the the whole wiper assembly just lifts off. (i didnt know that lol, felt like a idiot after i found it) do NOT loose the little set spacer inside it, it will just fall out if your not paying attention, and good luck finding it if it drops lol. remove windshield washer hoses before you completly remove the cowl, you will have enough slack when you pull it up to pull them off the connectors. if you have a rotted out Y connector (i did) for your washer hoses, auto zone has a multi pack of Y connectors and theres one in it that is the right size. spray paint from multiple angles to get all the nooks and crannys of the cowl.

now then, the middle of my cowl (where they are supposed to connect) does not sit right. im guessing the guys did it when i got my windsheild replaced and they broke of some of the connectors in the middle. how does one go about fixing that little problem? i was thinking just a few gobs of super glue in the crack and hold it at the right spot? theres not enough interconnected plastic for a screw to hold them.

Mine was loose. I just drilled two holes and used a zip tie to hold them together.

mine holds together fine on the engine side, its the window side (specifically the drivers side one) that pops up due to the broken off/weak snaps for it. so a zip tie through them would be visible and annoy me bad lol. thats why i was thinking just a few globs of superglue.

damn you photobucket app not letting me upload pics lol.
