Default removing rear blocks

Hello
On my 2004 f150 4wd, i attempted to remove the rear blocks last night.
seems simple enough, but when i went to lower the drivers side spring the holes would not line up exactly. i was able to line up somewhat and i thought when i tightened everything the holes would fit into place. began the passenger side and the problem is even worse.
How can i align the springs with the rear end? do i need to remove the shock to push the rear end? i am unable to move the rear end and line up?
thanks
matt

I used ratchet straps so I could move it where it needs to be. I put one for forward and one for moving it backwards.
