Default Removing badges

I'm sure there are threads, but there seems to be a problem with the search tonight. I installed a 2012 tailgate badge today, but removing the old one was a pain. I used fishing line, and the rest of the left over tape took me nearly an hour to pick off by hand using a heat gun on low. I've got 2012 Red FX2 Fender badges on the way, and wondering if somebody could give me tips to where I don't have the same problem again ? I'm going to try and remove them tomorrow to go ahead and get it out of the way. Heres a pic of the tailgate.

I had some sticky s**t left over from the dealer stickers i peeled off the tailgate below the badge, and I tried 2-3 cleaning chemicals, then I just sprayed some CRC Brake Kleen and it came right off, then I washed the area quickly, I remember using some similar method on my dads F150 which had some aftermarket badge on the tailgate

Get an eraser wheel off amazon. It attaches onto a drill and put it on low and use that, it takes the tape/sticky residue off with ease. Then use "oops" or "Goog off" to get rid of any other residue. It'll take 5 mins then you won't even be able to tell it was there
