I have a codealarm remote start in my truck. The normal sequence for it was once I pressed the start button, it would honk, lock the doors, and then start. Now all it does is two quick honks. Nothing else. Any ideas?

I would be looking it up in the manual for the remote start, if you don't have it, you might be able to find it online somewhere.

you might have the alarm in valet mode, whats the model on the alarm?

I have a Code Alarm remote start as well. I don't have the manual in front of me, but I believe the 2 honks means an "error" in the remote start process. The manual will tell you what it means.


The remote start needs to check the hood safety switch and some other things before it starts, any switch/input that is not correct the RS will abort.
