Question Remote Start Installation

I am contemplating self installing a remote starter on my 2005 F-150 Lariat. I do most of the work on the truck myself but have always shyed away from the electrical, especially on the newer vehicles. I am looking at getting a viper 5301 remote start and a Fortin PATS bypass module. Does anyone know the difficulty level of installing these?

Remote start systems have been discussed here. You are ahead of the game by knowing you need a PATS bypass system.

Use the search function and read the posts about how these systems are installed. Can't say for sure if your specific system was discussed, but I assume they are all somewhat alike.
As to electrical, I have a Ford factory schematic book, but not knowing what wires the kit comes with, and what they need to connect to, I can't provide you the color codes and location. If you get ahold of the instruction manual for the system you plan to install, post the wires it requires you to wire up, and their description; I can then give you the Ford color codes and location.
