Default Remote Start

Good afternoon. I have a 2008 F150 and I looking to purchase a remote start for it. Looking for recommendations.

Thanks,
Etta

My best suggestion is, if you are not self installing, is to thoroughly research the company you might use…. For both company issues as well as actual installer. They will be modifying/tapping/connecting to many critical wires/systems…. Not saying it’s rocket science, but a hack job can leave you with major issues.

I had nightmare install experience, that took much time, aggravation, and hssle before I received a working system. Still have occasional issues to find/fix from shoddy work.

i would only go somewhere that you have a personal first hand recommendation for both co and installer, that you’ve been able to actually look at their work.

if I had to do over again, I’d probably purchase from crutchfield, which would come with detailed instructions, and support during install. That way you know what’s being done and how it was done, before it’s too late.

good luck and post back with what you do and how it goes.

I put one in my truck YEARS ago and it is great. I wired it to also put on the side-view mirror defrosters and headlights with an 2 AUX output.

Mine is a code-alarm kit. Was able to do it all myself with provided instructions. I also used it to replace the factory FOB so it does the door unlock/lock and panic as well. Didn't want to carry two fobs.

definitely find a reputable shop for install if you are not doing it yourself. i had best buy install one on my old dodge dakota. well, for about a month after i would end up dropping it off every friday night so they could work on it the next day to try to fix that they had messed up. and then once they got it some what working order, i later found if i didn't lock out all the other windows on the window lock on the door panel, it would blow my starter fuse.

i recently had a drone remote start installed on my 2008. it's great. installer was good, and the remote start system is great. i ended up pairing it with their mobile option. so now i just carry my key. i lock/unlock & start my truck with my phone.
