Default Reflash?

I've had an issue with my 2007 F150 4x4 SCrew for a few months now. The emergency brake light on the instrument panel will turn on and turn off intermittently, with no rhyme or reason.

Recently, after having my front brakes redone, the repair shop said they'd take a look at the reason for me (for free!!). Long story short, they couldn't find anything (after about $700 worth of free work...I have the manifest in my truck). The best the assistant manager of the shop could suggest is that perhaps there's an issue with the computer, and I should go see a dealer to get it reflashed.

My question is...is this something that would fix the issue? I haven't noticed any performance hits because of this (but that doesn't mean there aren't any), but it is annoying.

Any suggestions?

I know on mine the spring doesn't bring the pedal all the way up. I gotta reach down and pull it up to get the light out.

Tried that before I took it in, and they tried that, too. That was the first thing I thought of (hmmm, maybe the pedal isn't all the way up)

Can't say I've had this complaint but did they inspected the sensor on the pedal. Test circuitry. To my knowledge there is no reflash for this concern. Sounds like a intermittent short to me. The only one i remember the light stayed on all the time and found a wire cought in the ratchet assembly of the pedal causing a short to ground.. dumb question but I'm gonna ask is ur brake fluid low?

Not a dumb question at all. The flushed the entire brake line twice, and even replaced the master cylinder (part of the free service). They said they checked the circuitry, and re-tightened the e-brake (so I assume they checked the e-brake assembly too).

This one's truly a mystery.
