Default recommendations on buffing rims!

I got a 08 FX4 with oem 20" rims alloy, clear coated. I want to shine them up. They are very dull and have light scratches.I was thinking of using turtle rubbing compound and a mothers mini ball with a drill to shine them up.after that apply some wheel wax from griots.com. That way they repel brake dust and should be easier to clean. Any other recommendations?

use a powerball for paint after you wash them, maybe the cone one. deep scratches wont come out with out a reclear, but polish wouldnt hurt them at all. the factory lariat 18s that were on my 04 were the same finish, but all i ever did was wash them. they looked great. if you feel them and the clear is rough, then there isnt much to be done other than have them refinished. which any mobile rim repair person could do.
