what rear ends came in what models....i have a 4.6 05 stx 4wd, i have a 10 bolt cover...like the 8.8, but i was under the impression that it was a 9.75 for some reason...which is a 12 bolt....am i a 8.8 or a 9.75 or something else....getting ready to add a set of gears or a new tranny...havent decided yet which i want first...

 

I think I read in one of my of magazines that only the 5.4 trucks got the 9.75 rears

 

thats what i hope...and am assuming...

i hope because 8.8 4.56 gears are alot easier and cheaper to come by

 

look on youre axle tag and it will tell you. or give me youre vin and i can tell you

 

dont have either...i am about 3000 miles from her....i know i have the 8.8 front, but as far as the rear pumpkin the 8.8 is the only 10 bolt i know for the f150 right?

 

if you have the 8.8 front than you have it in the rear. Most of the 4.6l have the 8.8 as far as i know but im not positive

 

well all the 04+ have the reverse cut 8.8 front, didnt matter on the rear pumpkin
