Default Rear end question! help!!

So my spider gears are shot, 05 scab xlt 4.6 4wd. Current diff tag is 8.8 3:55 limited slip. The only rear axle assembly I can find locally is a 9.75 3.55. Anyone know if it will work? I haven't laid eyes on it but just wondered if anyone tried it yet. Thanks in advance!

Should work and be an improvement. I have not actually looked at the difference but it may require a change of the yolk on the diff or driveshaft. If that is the case I would grab the driveshaft that goes with the 9.75 diff.

It is a direct bolt in replacement assuming it's also from a 04-08.

The three things that could require adapting are the brake lines, E-brake cable connections and the driveshaft, but from the previous feedback it sounds like a direct swap. You might need the U-bolts and plates from the donor vehicle. The 9.75 is a significantly stronger axle.

Everything is the same, it will bolt right in using all of your original hardware! Its would be a good idea to change the fluid in it before installing also.

Too bad a V-10 swap wasn't that simple!
