Default "razor" your exterior glass

Washed my tuck today. After, I noticed all the outsides of my glass felt a bit rough to the touch. I discovered a good technique to remove all the crap that won't come off with regular cleaning.

1. Spray liberally with a foaming aerosol glass cleaner.
2. While soaked with cleaner, use a brand new razor blade, holding it at an angle being sure to make full contact of the razors edge on the glass. Scrape the outside surface being sure to overlap to ensure full coverage. *** be sure to keep the surface wet to avoid scratching the glass. You may need to replace razor after a few windows. ***
3. Wipe surface dry with clean cloth.

Your glass will be as smooth as new

You can also use super fine steel wool. They sell it at hardware stores, near the sand papers. Don't use a Brillo pad, that's extra coarse steel wool!

They also sell "0000" steel wool. Some of the auto detail suppliers also have clay bar for windows.

Why not just use a clay bar? Seems a lot safer.

Very good point. Didn't have one at the time though.

Clay bar with a lubricant........steel wool? Never heard of that process. I used a fine clay bar and luber from chemical guys, along with Jetseal 109 afterwards. Jetseal is not inexpensive, but it goes a long way, there is enough to do the truck at least 2 times, maybe 3 after claying.
