Default Random brake failure, need help!!!

So as the title says i had a completely random brake failure today. i was pulling into my drive way and went to stop, hit the brake, and it wouldnt stop. I had a good brake pedal, but it just wouldnt stop. The only thing that stopped me was my buddys truck that was parked in front of me. There is only minor bumper damage on both trucks. I am completely baffled as to what in the hell happened, but ive been driving the truck all day, and the brakes work fine. There are no skid marks in the drive way or nothing so the brakes didnt lock up, but just didnt work. Also have abs and it didnt go off. Any help would be greatly appreciated, btw its an 08 FX4 Screw 5.4.

It is possible that you are pressing the accelerator and the brake pedal at the same time. This causes one to think the brakes are not working properly. Too many of our trucks have the two pedals so close together that this happens. It happened to me a few times until I learned to move my right foot a couple of inches to the left to keep it off the accelerator. Check it out. It sounds like your porblem.

Agree with Jon. My brother did the same thing with a golf cart. Only thing that stopped him was my grandfather's knees and another cart. In the heat of the moment, he had no idea what happened.

I lost brakes and went through a stop sign. I was lucky it was at night and no one was coming. The dealer told me I lost vacuum and power brakes. It wasnt that I lost my brakes but it seems like it when they stop being power in the middle. After that the truck would barely start and I had to get towed.

Booster failure.
Foot on brake and gas together.
Something rolled under brake pedal.

Since is an 08' my money is you double pedaled it. I have done it as well. I wear work boots all the time doesn't help. You would SWEAR the brakes aren't working.

Back in the day, Audi got robbed.
Toyota still got what they deserve though...

Sorry i didnt reply sooner, but ive been working a lot lately. Im always wearing work boots too, and the fact the brakes work fine now and have since. Im guessing that i must have double footed it. Ive only had the truck 2 months, and im still kind of getting used to it. I never did anything like this in my old 99 f150 i had, but it still had the cable driven throttle and not this horrible excuse of drive by wire. Appreciate the responces and i guess ill have to move my foot over a little bit more lol.
