Ranch quick lift coilover versus leveling kit
Hey guys i tried to search but found nothing
heres my situation... i have an 08 that isnt level. the front sits about an inch and a half lower than the back i think because of my tool box. i do tow occasionally
so... i also have a warranty for like 4 more years or 100k (have 36k now) i DONT want to void my warranty or cause more wear and tear then necessary to my truck-- im in college and dont want any unexpected repairs
so... aside from the $100 or so difference in price are the Ranch quick lift coil overs better than a leveling block? do they keep the geometry any better with the CV's and all?
some of you trucks look sick with the 2.5 level, and i have roush 20s id love to throw 33s on... even though i have 32s stock but if my front only sits an inchand a half lower should i only do an 1.5 level?
if the rancho's will ride better/ lift it safer for the vhicle i would rather do them... also let me see some pictures if you have the ranchos
heres some pics, they kinda suck though-- the second pic the driveway is a slight downhill with the front of the truck
thanks

Both the Leveling Kit and the Rancho will prematurely wear your upper ball joint. Now it wont be quite faster than normal wear and tear, but it will be sooner than if you left the truck as is.
First I put a leveling kit on my factory struts/coils. It was great. No complaints. Truck drove just like it did from the factory, just lifted up the front. A yr later my struts were starting to go out, so I did a overhaul. Rather than going back to factory, I went w/ the Rancho QL's. I also upgraded my front coils from my XLT 2wd Code SS to Fx4 Code UU. I think its no comparison really. The leveling kit will be just that, a level. However, the Rancho's will be a level + A shock upgrade. I also added an AAL since I was back there to maintain the factory rake look. Pics are in my albums.
The leveling kit is the easier of the 2 to install since you dont need a spring compression tool. But for the extra $ and effort, the Rancho's are the way to go.

Sorry Scrib im not trying to hijack your thread, but Vano, ballpark what did you pay for the install on the front rancho's? I currently have a level but approaching 90k and want to upgrade shocks all the way around as the ride quality seems to be diminishing a bit. I can get the rear's done pretty cheap im just not sure about the fronts, thanks.

I do all my own work. Only mod I did not do was the body lift & the Ring & Pinion. Everything else on my truck was done by either just me, or me and a friend. Its an easy install. The rears just unbolt and rebolt, easy cheesy. The fronts are pretty cake too. If you installed the leveling kit yourself, then you are just 1 bolt away from removing the strut (bolt on the LCA). After that, then its just a matter of gettin the coils onto the new struts. This can be done by a shop for around $80 (1 hr of labor). So all I had out of pocket was the cost of the shocks plus the cost of the upgraded coils. If you can turn a wrench, have jack stands, I say do it yourself and send me some of the cash I just saved ya

Lol, where are you located that you know the Woodlands like that? Hell, if you are close, come to my house and we'll tear into the truck in my driveway on a weekend. Take us half a day.

Im inside the loop, not far from UH, kinda close to Midtown. I might have to take you up on that offer when work slows down here in about a month.
. Always happy to wrench on someone's truck.
