rail system dvd display.
hey everyone so I have been thinking about something lately that would be an interesting feature to my truck if I could figure it out. so my 05 xlt super cab has the rail system on the roof and the only compartment thing I have on it is the flip down sunglasses holder. but when I take it off the rail I notice a hole in the headliner and tucked in this hole is a connector that I believe is for the factory DVD player that mounts to these rails. my question is, I have a double din pioneer head unit that plays DVDs and I believe has output terminals on the back of it to connect another display. I am just wondering if I was to buy a aftermarket LCD display and mount it to the flip own sunglasses holder with a little modifying could I use this plug to wire it?
I have a xlt with the rail system and I don't have it the previous owner installed a DVD player under passenger seat ( dosent work) that he had connected to my avid-d2 pioneer head unit , if you bought your truck used maybe the previous owner had an after market install or if ford at that time had a did opinion maybe it was a add on from ford who knows
Those wires will only work with the flip down monitor that came directly from Ford. And from what I was told by the audio shop I go to, there's no aftermarket flip down monitors that are a "direct fit" with that rail.
