Default Radio doesn't turn off, no dome light for 3 of 4 doors

Hi All - New to the forum. I have a '07 Mark LT. When opening the driver or front passenger door, the radio does not turn off. I've done a lot of searching and found similar threads. I checked the purple wire splice and it was solid with no signs of corrosion. I sprayed WD-40 into the latch and opened and slammed the door several times. The thing that seems really odd to me is the driver door, front passenger door, and rear passenger door do not turn on any of the dome lights. Th only door that lights the dome light and rear bed light is the driver side rear passenger door. Any suggestions?

I would start by pulling the plastic kick panels and checking that the ground wires are sound. Rust belt vehicles often have ground issues at the kick panel areas.

Thanks Jimboy. I pulled the kick panels on both sides and didn't find any issues with the ground wires. I don't think it is a door switch because 3 of the doors don't trigger the dome light, but one does

Any other suggestions? Could replacing the driver door relay sensor really resolve the issue with the other two doors?

Issue ended up being the door latch/jam switch. I replaced the driver side switch, and that door worked shutting off the radio when the door opened and tripping the interior and bed lights. I ordered the passenger side switch, replaced that, and that solved the problem.

Good job tracking the problem down. And thanks for the update. It can help others in the future.

If you could share how you determined that both door ajar switches were bad, that could also be helpful.

After reading various threads on this subject, and checking grounds, fuses, the Body Security Module, and the "purple wire splice" topics, I decided to take a chance and just order the parts and replace the switches. Rock Auto lists the Motorcraft parts under the Door Open Warning Relay topic, but the parts under Door Jamb Switch cross-reference the factory part numbers and are half price. I went with the WVE switches.
