Default Radar dectector

Anyone have an opinion on a good fairly cheap radar detector?

it depends on your definition of fairly cheap, In my opionion the best all around radar detector would be the Escort 9500IX but it will run you around $400. Not sure how much your wanting to spend.

I bought the 89$ one from Walmart and it has keep me from MANY tickets! I can pick up police waaaay before I can see them. It's cheap but it works very well

I also use a Passport 9500ix and it is great but it isn't cheap. Tickets aren't cheap either. I upgraded a year ago from a Passport 8500 X50 and it was great as well. Those can be found on EBay and Craigslist for $200-$250. Be careful with the cheap ones as they don't usually work well, if it all, in POP mode which is instant on radar. I have been driving around 45K miles each year for the last 5-6 years and I have not been pulled over once during that time. Part of that may be luck but the Passports have saved me too many times to count.
