Default Rack and pinion bushing ?

06 xlt 4x4 w/ 6" RCX lift, I've noticed a clunk when backing down my driveway and going off the slanted curb so i changed my sway bar end links today because the passenger side top bushing was gone so I bought the more expensive moogs this time. While under there I noticed there's a little gap (1/4-3/8") between the Rack N pinion drop mount on the back side and was wondering if I'm missing a bushing. I'll get a pic in a few minutes.Rack and pinion bushing ?-photo854.jpgRack and pinion bushing ?-photo294.jpg
I couldn't see the small bushing behind the spring so maybe it was just the end links making the clunk due to one side missing a bushing and having an inch of play.

Have you tried using a prybar to see if the rack moves any? If every thing is good and tight, your problem is likely elsewhere.

My "clunk" noise ended up being bad struts. Having a lift/level kit seemed to accelerate the wear on the bushings.

Well the whole bushing on top of the sway bar link was missing on the passenger side which would cause a significant clunk when going over bumps but I haven't driven yet since I changed the end links a couple hours ago. I'll update in a couple hours about the clunk after I drive a little

Here's the "drive worx" $50 end links (the one on the right was passenger side). I purchased new moogs for $100, should I have saved some money and purchased new bushings since the posts aren't damaged or stick with the new setup since their already on ?Rack and pinion bushing ?-photo443.jpg
