Quick Question about painted rims.
So about a year ago, I decided I would paint the stock rims on my 2005 Lariat Screw F150. They were not chrome but more stainless looking. Anyway...
How can I reverse this process? I want them to look close to stock again, as I am trying to get my truck as close to stock as possible to sell it. I've looked at some paint removal stuff from walmart, but decided I'd post and ask before I bought anything.
Apart from removing the paint:
I sanded and primed them when I painted them black. Is it even possible to get these rims back to stock color? or am I just stuck with em?
Thanks for any help or advice.

Acetone will take paint off anything but I dont know exactly if it will tarnish the chrome or not. The steel wont get hurt by it though. Your only issue is going to be that you sanded the wheels...once you get the paint off, you will still have scuffed up wheels...

Is there a way to shine the chrome back up?

If they're not chrome, but more stainless steel-looking, they're probably alloys. Strip the paint with some thinner, buff and polish out the sanding marks, then clearcoat them.

Either way, you sanded and painted...You will need to do this again to get them back to stock!
Check out the VHT paints, they make them in misc colors, including popular OEM silvers. My suggestion would be to get them powder coated.
