Default Quick exhaust question

Hello, I have been researching getting a new exhaust put on my truck and have a quick question. I am looking at the Flowmaster 40. I will be using my existing exhaust tube up until the muffler, so how do I know what size inlet to get? I show anywhere from 2 1/4 to 3 inch. Also I will be having the exhaust exit in front of the passenger tire. Is 2 1/2" in and 2 1/2 out what I will need to order? I almost forgot to mention my truck is an 04 F150 4.6. Thanks for the help in advance.

Do you have a sound clip of your 40? Is it on a 4.6 or 5.4? Seems all the sound clips I hear sound different even with the same setup. Is it too loud, not loud enough, or something else? I am looking for something with a decent sound but not too loud and obviously not spending a ton of $ going with the flowmaster 40.

I do not have a sound clip but when I get home ill show you my set up and that could also be why I dont like it. And the tone is nice and all but my problem is when I step on it sounds like a turbine and just pushes lots of air out and no tone to it

Ah I see. I am between the 40, delta 40 or possibly the super 44. Its hard for me to decide with every sound clip I hear sounding different lol. Any extra info would be greatly appreciated!

Why did you get rid of the delta 40? Same issue as the original 40?

I have a 10 series and I still don't think the truck is loud enough. So it just depends on your personal preference.
