Default Quick Electrical Question

I was searching, but I guess I don't know what to search for exactly, so I'm just going to ask

Every now and then (normally when I start the truck the first time for the day) my dash will make a beeping noise, this part flickers on and off (in the green box) and my speedo will shut off (if I am driving), it will reset my trip counter, and tell me to push reset for a system check....I checked the battery connection but it was fine. Any ideas?

Picture is not my truck, just a picture I found to show what part I am talking about.

Thanks

Bad batteries cause all kinds of problems. Easy to have your battery tested. It could also be a bad connection on the backside of your instrument cluster. Thats another easy fix, unplug and plug everything back in a few times, look for loose/corroded wires, and it may be easy to solve.

Battery is about 3 years old. I've never witnessed a drop in voltage or anything.

I will have a look under the dash.

Thanks
