Default Quick connect.....doesn't

Went to change my fuel filter on my 2004 SCREW, and the back of the fuel filter released, the front would not. I am not going to force, it, but is there a way to get this thing apart? I used the quick connect release tool, to no avail. Let me know. Thanks.

I used a small pliers as leverage and kept pressure on it.

Used the pliers to push the fuel filter into the fitting, or use the pliers to pull the filter out of the fitting?

Sorry if I was being vague. It was easy for me to get the rear hose off with the blue clip. The front hose was an issue for me. First I got that metal piece out of the way. It's oddly designed, but designed only to really go on and off one way.

Once I got that out of the way I got the fuel line disconnect tool on and shoved it down. It was able to go in as far as it could pretty easy. It doesn't have to sit flush. Then it just wouldn't come apart.

The next thing I did was remove the fuel line from the rubber piece that holds it in place by the frame just after elbow. That allowed me more freedom in moving it. Then I got a pliers between the fuel filter and the disconnect tool and tried to pry the line off. At this point I tried to remove the fuel filter while it was still connect to the fuel line because there should be enough play in it to do so. When I tried I noticed that it had worked it's way loose enough so I just removed the fuel line and fuel filter.

The front is a pain, make sure you get a good fuel disconnect tool and i worked a big screwdriver between the fileter and a tool to get it seated good. Then, gave the filter a good yank whole holding a pair of vice grips behind the tool applying pressure with the grips toward the fuel line.
