Default quick audio question

i have an 06 lariat. now i want to hook up some sort of ipod/mp3 player to my headunit. i do not want to use the little radio adaptors and want to plug the audio source in a direct port to the headunit. my radio has an aux button on it. i know alot of trucks have the plug in on the dash in that little cubbie thing, mine is not there. is there anywhere else the plug could be or how should i go about hardwiring one in the headunit?

I've been looking into this for my 2004 FX4 as well. Your best bet is a converter, unless it came with the option then you'll have to add-on for a little money.

Crutchfield has one here, I'm hard pressed to find any others that don't include adding an aftermarket stereo.

at 100$ for that unit... you might aswell just get a new head unit, if you dont mind losing the stock look.

Now days i believe you can get cheap decks that have aux or even ipod for little cost.

The PIE is the way to go to be able to connect the aux port. now if you get a new unit, you still need an adapter to be able to control the radio with your steering wheel controls... oh well.
