question about gearing.
i have a 2006 f150 supercrew xlt stock 3.55 gears and 4.6 v8. I put on some new wheels and tires, 315/70r17. i would like to get 4.10 gears installed but some people say i should go 4.56, i read that 4.56 will be and are usless on the highway. im thinking 4.10's will be the way to go. the way it sits now doesnt bother me, i like to run at 70 and it does it fine just have to downshift going up hills or fighting the wind.
I'd like to regear my 4.6 as well. Currently have 33.6" tall tires (305/40R23) with 3.55. Here's a neat chart for seeing what gears will put you where.
Yellow - Max fuel economy
Orange - Best overall (MPG/performance)
Red - Best performance

I have a 2010 screw 5.4 4x4 with 3.55 gears and I'm running 35 Toyo MTs. I'm so tired of the tranny jumping back and forth between the gears. I'm thinking 4.10s but really have no idea about gearing. Is the chart above for a specific motor or just a general guide line?
