Default question on 3" lift

Hey guys I have read all the pages on this topic and I am ready to buy a kit and was wondering which way I should go.

I have an 06 f150 xl ext cab 4.6 2wheel drive

option one: skyjacker 3" suspension lift which includes new struts new rear shocks and add a leaf

Option two: 3" hbs leveling kit if I go with this option what size blocks should I get for the rear??? and will it need new rear shocks???

any help would be great thanks guys

Anytime you can avoid blocks in the rear...I would do that...IMO

The add a leaf will mess up the ride though.

I'd recommend: 2.5" or 3" Autospring level + 3" Autospring replacement block (bout an inch of lift).

Whatever block you get, look for one that is made for your truck and has the positioning pins, and get a full replacement block to avoid stacking smaller blocks.

Sorry, forgot you were 2wd, you can either use the stock 4x4 block (around 2") or Autospring makes a 1.5" IIRC.

4x4s have a factory 2" block, so the 3" actually lifts around an inch.

now with the 3" leveling kit and the stock block will it be a noticable difference in lift to the truck??? also will i need new shocks in the back for the extra height?

That should put you at 4x4 stance plus about an inch in the front.

You should be fine without new shocks for the rear block, worse case you could get a lightly used set of 4x4 shocks for real cheap from someone who lifted.
