Check with Tasca, a dealer vendor on this site as they claim that they sell OEM parts at 10% over cost. I have purchased a few parts from them and the price was very good.

The metal toothed wheel on the crankshaft . If its damaged in any way ,yes it needs replacing. It has a front stamped on it ,don't put it in backwards -it won't run . That damaged part could cause havoc .
Mine was still good but if it was scraped at all it would be a new one .
And plug in crank sensor when putting timing cover on, it is much easier.
