Question Pulling your cab off. Just how difficult is it?

I mentioned this in another post and I should have made a separate one so I can hopefully get some good input:

Sine I'm eventually going to get a new engine, I've been looking into pulling the cab off the frame ever since I read about it somewhere. Possibly on this site, I don't recall. I've lifted beds before to get at the in-tank fuel pump. That's the ONLY way to do those IMO! Super easy. Cabs? I'm not sure. Never did it on newer or older rigs.

Yanking the cab would be the ultimate way of working on any engine and transmission. I'm not suggesting pulling the cab just to get at those dreaded rear-plugs, but if you had multiple issues like total engine or trans R&R, or oil pan, phasers, etc... wouldn't it be nice to have 360 degree access?

Question: Just how difficult is it to pull the cab on our F150 super cabs? Mine is a 2004 F150 Lariat 4x4 with the 5.4 Triton.
How hard can it be and is there any special tooling involved? Certainly you'd have to disconnect your A/C, but you'd have to do that anyway. Anything else?

Obviously you'd need an overhead gantry of some kind and appropriate lifting devices such as a winch, chain hoist etc. And careful placement of your lifting straps. I already have a big chain hoist (6-ton) and several cable pullers. I've also built several 4x4 gantry's over the years to yank out boat engines, so those are easy enough. All I'd need to do is get the cab high enough to roll the chassis away. Get that done and no more crawling around under your truck on your back, busting knuckles, crap in your face and so on.

Or is cab-pulling just plain nuts? I've never thought of this approach. Sounds interesting. Too bad there wasn't a way to make the entire cab tilt forward like the big-rigs do. Talk about an easy way to change your plugs!
