Pulling the engine for manifold replacement?
I brought my truck in to the shop for a manifold replacement on the passenger side (it has been making a ticking noise lately from a small fracture/leak). The shop just called me and said that they are worried that the bolts could break, and if one of them does, they would need to pull the engine.
Does that make sense? Would you really need to pull the engine out just to replace the manifold? I get the sense that he doesn't want to do the job, and am wondering if he is just trying to get me to forget about it since he doesn't find the ticking noise that loud.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

i developed what i thought was an exhaust leak on the passenger side, then a week later #3 spark plug shot out of the head. unless your certain its a crack in the manifold check your plugs before your screwd like me.
Thanks, but I'm pretty sure. I just had all my plugs replaced, too, and the leak predates that.
