Default Puddle lights

Are the puddle lights in the towing mirrors not designed to come out or something? I can't get it to go back in and stay in. The light housing or the clear cover lens.

I hate to bump this, but I'm afraid to drive the truck without the lens on. I'm afraid of dirt and water splashing up in there and causing some harm.

I'm not sure of the answer, but you could "glue" it back with clear silicone... that's what they tell you to glue the mirror lens on with when you have to replace a cracked one... tape it up and let it sit for 24 hours....

Mine "popped" out with a screw driver. To switch the bulb out from the canister I had to dremel the lens off. I used silicone to reseal it.

I used a screwdriver to get it off. But it came off easily. I guess I'll run to Carquest tomorrow!
