Thanks again guys for all of the suggestions.
Boomer - thank you for the nice comment on the headlights. The only problem is that the lenses have serious crazing. We tried sanding but the crazing is too deep. Unfortunate because now I either want to buy a new set and replace the clear lens. I could have bought am aftermarket set for what I will have in these when all is said and done. Oh well that's going to be later on.
I am in the process of installing new rotors. Went ahead and painted the calipers red (I know a lot of you don't like tat but worth the chrome wheels and solid red STX I think it will look good. Painted the outer end of the rotors red where the pads don't touch to help with rust and of course a little accent. I have it up on jack stands and it's more or less level right now. I like the look leveled out.
I am on the fence about the exhaust. I can do the work myself as I weld too. To keep it simple (and keep his momma happy because she don't want it too loud) I am leaning toward some type of muffler or a glass pack. Suggestions?
I may have mentioned this before but I am thinking about a couple of sub woofers under the back seat and building it to where he has some interior storage. He has the 1/2 back seat (extended cab). I know very little about step systems so, given the area I have to work with has anyone done this before who could recommend what size speakers and amp (if any). He has a new pioneer stereo and I need to see how much wattage it puts out. I do know that the stock speakers can't handle near the power that the stereo puts out.
One last thing just to brag on my 14 year old son. He is really into electronics and programming. I was going to buy a cheap parking sensor set but instead he is going to custom build one using an arduino board with multi color leds, beeper and an lcd screen. We thought about a camera but I think the sensors will force him to pay more attention t to his surroundings instead of focusing on a camera.
Thanks again for all of the help! I have the rotors and caliper mounts installed and am going to make him install the pads and all when he gets home from school. We will try to post some pictures this evening.

Always nice to have new members on the forum. I noticed you were talking about your son getting this f150 at 17. I got my first f150 when I was 18 and I loved it. It got totalled last November but I did a lot too it. My new one now is a 05 screw.
As for exhaust I got myself some true duals with magnaflow mufflers and it's got a very nice rumble to it but not too loud, and very good WOT Sound!! Flow master may have a better growl to it and straight piping will really make it growl. I'll post up my list of mods to give you some ideas of my budget at my time and what I've done:
K&N CAI
Magnaflow mufflers true duals
Edge evo CS programmer
5w-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic
Mobil 1 oil filter
Champion #7989 double platinum plugs
Aftermarket stereo
Tinted tail and 3rd brake lights
Black headlights
2.5" level kit
Plastidipped emblems
17x8.5 lvl 8 rims. (+12 offset)
295/70/17 nitto terra's
Smittybilt light bar
4 hella black magic lights
2 Undercover swing case's
Spray on bed liner
Bakflip F1 tonneau cover
Towing mirrors
Front reciever hitch
CB radio with PA
Camo seat covers
More that I haven't put on my list yet

I wanted pretty much the opposite of everyone in my town at 17. Everyone wanted their trucks lifted as high as they could get them, and I wanted to be a low as possible. I started with a stock 2002 Silverado RCSB with a 4.8. I was the only lowered fullsize at school, and there were only two or three minis that were lowered. Of course, lowered is not everyone's taste though.
My setup was:
DJM 4/6 kit - it was eventually notched
Bazo B4 20s - I think they were B4s
Borla muffler dumped under the bed
Custom console with a 10" kicker L7
MB Quart Components
MTX Amps
Windows at 5%
And pretty much everything PTM'd

I'm 17 and I always want more performance stuff. I had true dual exhaust with glass packs putbon since my last truck I had flowermaster 44s on it and it was just quite. Now I'm wanting to get an edge, e fans, and a cold air intake.

X2 on this. I'm about to put exhaust and an edge on mine. For some reason it's fun having the fastest truck of all your friends...even though they're not really fast

Exactly! That's how it was for my friends and I too. The faster or best sounding truck was the best. I have an edge in mine with true duals and it sounds great.

If you're wanting a reasonably quiet (but still much louder than stock) exhaust upgrade, perhaps consider a 70 series flowmaster setup. Glasspacks wear out over time and get louder, and I don't think that would make mama too happy.
