Default Pros and Cons of LED Tail lights

Im thinking of buying some LED tail lights and I was curious if anyone has had any, and if they see any pros or cons to them! Such as maybe one light on the LED goes out or they shine brighter. Thanks guys!

They do look nice...

However being a HAM RADIO GUY the more things that you install that uses internal "BUCK BOOST" type regulator chips create more RFI noise to deal with.

Make sure they are a "brand" that are reputable. There used to be some cheap sets sold years ago that killed your cruise control. Yes, the cruise would stop working because the brake light resistance was lower with LED lights in the brake circuit, and therefore the cruise would not come on, as it expected to see a certain amount of resistance in that circuit, so it could deactivate when the brakes were applied.

Not an issue today, as most manufacturers of them today are aware, and install load resisters in the circuit board of the taillights.

Default Pros and Cons of LED Tail lights

I've seen a lot of LED taillight setups exhibit a random flickering when illuminated.. It seems to be a sporadic problem.. I've been behind enough vehicles through the years with this issue to just shy away from the whole idea.. It may be a hit or miss problem.. I've noticed it mostly in cars and trucks with led third brake light and taillight combos.. Yes, I've also seen it on quite a few F150's as well..

If you're looking for good LED anything I would go to Gorecon.com. They're kind of expensive but they're good quality. I have spyder's and they aren't bad either but I went the cheaper route. I have never heard anything bad about recon. It's what I'll buy if mine break.

Hella made the best ones, but don't any longer.

Recon and Spyder are basically the same, except for the price. I had spyder and had LEDs start failing after the first year until I had to junk the whole thing. The soldering on the circuit board didn't hold up.

go cheap and you'll end up with burned out led's and moisture getting into the housings.

I was debating that myself not too long ago. I ended up using nightshade on the tails and only buying an LED 3rd brake light. Surprisingly, the light is still very visible. It doesn't look to shabby either haha. I'll get ya a picture if you want. Plus, it'll save you some $$ too.
