So I have a couple of older trucks we use for trailer towing and general use like yard work etc. The truck in question is a 2006 F150 which I am trying to program new door remotes as the old ones are erratic, mostly have to be right beside the truck and may have to hit the buttons a few times to open or lock the doors. I cannot get the truck to go into programing mode. Key off and on 8 times with last position being on. nothing happens. won't go into programming mode. Now at the same time I have a 2004 F350 which uses the same model of remotes and this worked fine first time and No problem programing the new remotes for it. So any suggestions? as to what maybe wrong? I contacted the supplier of the remotes and all they can suggest is leave door open and try again. I will be doing this later today as the truck is 1/2 an hour away. plus I will be checking any fuse that might or mightn't be in the system for that function. Of course I asked the ford dealer about it and they just want me to bring it into them at $150.00 an hour.
