Professional advice needed
2006 F150 4.6 V8 2WD. Repairing front end damage, received new two row radiator. Refilling with Concentrated Motorcraft Gold and Water. A/C condensor should be here tomorrow or Fri. Is it alright to start my truck without the ac condensor in attempt to test the radiator??? I am also lacking my radiator support but I will have that next week. I just miss how he sounds and I wanna start him up and hear him roar. Any advice is obliged.
Yeah, you can start it without the condenser. As long as the compressor is in place so the belt can use the pulley, it won't hurt it, it'll just spin. It won't turn on without pressure in the A/C lines. Mine hasn't been pressurized for well over a year now.
Thank you for your quick response. Very prompt and informative. Now I took some advice from one of the threads and shot the garden hose water through my top radiator hose and coolant reservoir to clear out the old antifreeze, do I need to do anything extra to ensure no sediments are gunk put a damper in my commute one day??
Not really. You could probably get some kind of flush stuff but even my repair manual just says use water and let it run for a while. Chances are if there was that much gunk in there, if it was going to mess things up, it would've done it already.
