Default Problems after cleaning Throttle body, Help!

Tried searching couldnt find anything real close, So yesturday i changed my oil and while i waiting for it to drain i decided to clean the throttle body since i just got the truck couple months ago. Its 2005 f150 5.4, I cleaned the throttle body and maf sensor with the appropraite cleaners. Put everything back together and finished the oil change, started fine. Ideled high for a minute but figured it needed to learn itself again.

All was good, got into the truck to go to the store next morning and she started hard and idlled high. Made it to the store when i came out started hard and would only idle, no pedal response. With no choice i had it towed home and began looking at things. made sure all was connected right and searched the forum. Seemed the tps was a common problem so i got one put it in and took a minute but she was running agian.

The problem now is she is still ideling around 1100 rpm for a minute, and then finally drops down. When i come to a stop it stays high around 1100 for a second before finally droping to normal. It seems like while im driving too it doesnt want to drop down and almost holds the speed im at untill i actually brake. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and when it first went into the "limp" mode the wrench light came on but went away after i replaced the tps.

i have this same problem right now, its like it keeps pulling even when you let off the gas? i think it is the motor on my throttle body, like its getting stuck and the butterfly flap on the throttle body wont "spring" its self all the way shut!

There is a fuel relearn process, disconnect battery for 2 plus hours(my memory stayed there if I did anything less), connect battery, turn off all accessories, start and let warm up, turn ac on let idle 1 min, put foot on brake, put in drive, let idle 1 min, go for a 10+ mile drive. After that you could try the diamond bird trick. Not sure if this helps, but I think it's worth a try.

Maybe when you bolted the throttle body back down you did not tighten it down enough, or you offset the gasket from TB to manifold. Or maybe your throttle body is due for replacement... Did you have any stalling when coming to a stop prior to cleaning the TB?
I just pulled mine today because I stalled out while braking at a stop lights 3 times today... It was dirty and it cleared up the issue as far as I can tell thus far.

You might need to head to the dealer to calibrate it... I'm not sure about that though.

Well finally got it, after driving to work and almost rearending someone cuz she was ideling at 1100 rpms untill i come to a complete stop. I shut the truck off when i got home and listened to the throttle whith the engine off but key on. I could hear it go into like stages and getting caught up on something, thought it was jsut cocked in the hole a bit so unbolted it and tried again, same thing. So i took a hard look inside and when i was cleaning it i must have pushed or pulled to hard on the brass blade and moved it out of place. Loosened the set screws and adjusted it. Then did a relearn just for the hell of it. Now shes purring at 650 and driving like new.

Makes you feel good when you figure something out. Way better than paying a shop to start throwing new parts on the truck hoping it works. Congrats

what is the set screw? i am still having this problem, i am going to pull it apart in the morning, mine sits at 1100 to and pulls quite a bit, i am very positive it is the TB because before i even reinstalled it i pushed on the inlet flap a little and when i did it just stayed in place, the door didnt snap back with "elasticity" like one would think a throttle would!
