Default problem after new battery install...

I replaced my stock battery after 5 years of use, and tonight I started to have electrical problems. Coming back from the tattoo shop I noticed my my guage cluster lights flickering, then my head lights then my voltage guage droped and the truck went dead. Lights didnt shut off I started the truck up right after and made it home. The whole the all my lights were flickering. Could it be an alternator problem? What do you guys think

Verify battery connection first, mostly looking for a loose connection.

Could easily be a bad connection, even though the truck fired back up.

I had a similar problem once. I was in a hurry to change the battery, and forgot to hook up the wire from the alternator to the battery.

I didn't realize this until I bought a replacement alternator, and started to unhook the " bad" one.

After seeing this, I hooked up the wire, and brought the replacement alternator back!!!

May not help you, but I thought it was funny for me.

Mattd17,

Thats funny, sort of, except for the hassel of going back and forth to the parts store. Got the alternator installed went for a ride and its working perfect.
