My 08 FX4 has a 2.5"level. It is 1/4 of an inch higher in the rear. Thats with an autospring.

See, I think it depends on the truck. I have an 08 FX4 and went with the 2in autospring and I'm a 1/4 higher in the rear. All depends on the ride.

i am running a readylift leveling kit on our shop truck... which is a 2wd and its great... however if you want to go a little better route, bilstein makes a coilover for the front that acts as a leveling kit and it works great... changing out all your shocks to bilstein will make it ride a lot better too

I am about to switch over to their setup, but I have been very happy with the readylift so far... i just want new shocks so I am changing it all out

I also have a 2.5" level on my 05 XLT 4x4 and it also still sits about 1/4" - 1/2" higher in the back.

thanks guys.

I'll look into a 2 inch. The rear will stay stock. No plans for a lift in the foreseeable future.

This forum is a lot better then F150 Online.

Should I measure? I would hate to have the front higher then the back :S.

How much are a decent set of Blistein shocks?

Stock height shocks will work for up to 2" of lifted applications, so you could go with Bilstein Heavy Duty instead of the pricier 5100s.

Here are the results for your vehicle if you wish to compare the two - http://www.shockwarehouse.com/index....cted_year=2006.

Let me know if you have any questions.

studs issues

I have a question for anyone who has done the leveling kit. Do you have to trim the original studs or not, a friend of mine put in a leveling kit in a GMC and he had to cut down the studs after he bolted on the spacer. not sure if that has to be done on the fords or not.

also anyone have any preference one hellbent vs auto spring.

thanks

I have a 2006 F150 5.4L 4x4 Extended cab automatic

You shouldn't have to trim your studs at all....
I put the Hellbent Steel kit on my 04 XLT 4x4, with no problems at all.. and love it!!
