Question Previously Posted

I posted the lighting problem in the wrong section (good move-i know). The lights under my gear shifter in my 05 FX4 are out and I don't know what fuse to start with I looked at a couple, but none were blown. Others said to take the console out and look at the 197 bulb, but before I go ripping away at my console i would like to know exactly how to get to that light. If anyone has had this problem i would greatly appreciate your help. Also i wanted to know if the 12V symbol, that is over the cigarette lighter, lights up.

I told you how to get to that bulb.... you have to pull up the console, it's made to pop up so you can get to it easy.... Open the armrest, put your finger in the square hole, pull to the driver seat and up at the same time and it'll pop open. Reach in and twist and pull the plug out (it's black.. wire and plug) change the bulb and reinstall. The console wont come all the way off cause of the shifter.

welcome, glad to help.. I took mine apart and changed over to a BLUE LED. I took mine all apart, even removed the green tint so that it's blue... not aqua. Check my pics
