Default power window problem

2007 F150 XLT with power windows. I ran into an interesting problem. One evening both windows were a bit unresponsive, but worked. It sat for 2 1/2 days while I was at a conference. This morning (Saturday)
they would not open, neither one. I fooled around a bit and then they did open, but would not shut. I had a 7-8 hour drive ahead of me in 95+ degree heat. About 2 hours into the drive, they both started to work and I got them closed. Then I used the a/c.

Since they both do work I don't suspect a fuse, but I guess it could possibly be loose. No work has been done ion the truck recently.I played with eh buttons pressing both ways and did work the lock button back and forth. May be a loose wire or shorted wire. Do not care for electric problems!

Note: Sunday about noon: I went to unpack the truck and tried the windows this morning- there did work! At least went down and up once time each.

Did you check the wire in the boot going from the truck to the door? You might have an intermittent broken wire. The constant opening and closing the door will crack and break the wires in there.

SHIR B. --He is right the wires in the door hinge break inside the insulation and become intermittent . You can use an ohm meter and flex wires during test ,then solder new pieces in .. Some times its the master controller drivers side ,aftermarket is pretty cheap .. My aftermarket has been working for years .
You can also have ground problems in left and right kick panels --clean them .
Some guys take the switches apart and clean them if on a tight budget .

could be the controller. if you refer to the unlock/lockbuttons right next to the up/down buttons. I played with them on and off, the last item I think it may have been on :lock and it worked both windows. Just to hot right now to play with it! Thanks.
