I just completed a full timing job on my 04 5.4 v3 using the ever so popular youtube series everyone is familiar with. Job was a massive pain but once I got everything back together it ran perfectly, I did a few miles for a test, came back home, and then drove it to the store. Once I started leaving the store the belt got shredded by the fan.
I put a new belt on and so far a small test run has it working without any issue but I'm wondering if I could be left stranded again.
It's probably hard to tell from the photos but I know there are some experts out there that can help.
Bummer, I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that. After 30+ hours on that beast of a project, another 2 hours or more on that power steering is going to suck. Those bolts are not easy to work with.
looks like its being pulled over the top of the PS pump pulley - is the ps pump pulley off at an angle? did you take a closer look at the pulley or two before it? Would hate for you to pull the PS pump and that wasnt the mis aligned pulley
