Hi folks , new here .just got a new to me 2008 f150 lariat 4x4 this summer and i am really enjoying it ...... until this past month. my power steering started to act up and make noise so i checked fluid and it was down. top it up and it would stay fine for 400 km. or so then need more fluid . .i took it in to a ford dealer near my house and a Canadian Tire ,who are really great in my town,btw,and both said a high pressure hose has cirrode,broke, leaking... and needs to be replaced . great go ahead and gettr done ..,but the problem is the maker of this hose /tubing with flared ends and special nuts just went out of business and apparently even the dealers are back ordered on this part with no estimate as to how long before they get one. closes estimate is 2-3 months .
i need my truck for work and need it fixed pronto...
has anyone had this same problem and how have you fixed it?
is there an aftermarket supplier for this part or a hose shop near Toronto Canada that can make a replacement hose?
Can u just use "arm strong steering "on the truck or will that wreck the power steering more. it won't hold fluid for more than a half hour now.
Anyone out there want to send me a replacement ?

I had to replace the line from power steering pump to cooler on my truck back in the summer, I just ordered replacement from RockAuto.com. 3 days and I was back in business.
