Default Power Mirrors Not Working

For my 2006 F150 XLT 5.4:

The power mirrors don't work at all. I don't have power seats or petals. I replaced the switch in the door to no effect.

I saw else where that it can be caused by a faulty splice in a wire by the passenger kick plate right below the fuse box. I got that pulled apart right now and can not find a splice in there at all.

Did ford fix this problem in 06? Could the splice be much farther back than I am expecting? Should I be looking elsewhere?

Thanks!

did you check the fuse? Did you also check to see if power is going to the switch?

The fuse #3, is just fine. My multimeter's probes are too big to fit into the connector going to the switch. I can't find any wire to fit in there. I was hoping I would find a bad splice and not have to go buy wire for this. In case I end up doing that which wires should I check? Based purely off my own guessing, would it be the red and black ones?

I'm no expert electrician, so unfortunately I'm not sure which to check exactly. I just know the basics plus a little extra. Hopefully someone more electrically inclined will chime in.

UPDATE: I found some wire tucked away and read that the green and orange wire should always be hot. Its got zilch on it so I am trying to figure that one put right now.

Paperclip.

Plug it back in and put your MM probes on the switch at the door to see if the door is even getting power, then work backwards.

Any idea where I could find some diagrams so I have a better idea what I'm doing? My Chilton manual is of no help.

Actual service manuals. The Haynes and Chiltons are great for most things, but not wiring.

What's the best (ie. Cheapest) place to get one of those?
