Exclamation possible water damage, please help!

today my brother an I went off roading and while going through a moderately deep mud hole i think my intake sucked in some water because once i got out the engine started to sputter and ended up stalling out. after managing off the trail it stalled a few more times and was to the point it couldnt drive without missing and stalling out. after reving the engine a good amount it seemed okay to drive home and now it handles fine in the low rpm but once I hit over 2700 it starts to miss badly. what should I do?

any check engine lights?

Did you check the air cleaner to see if you did get water in the airbox?

do you know what Hydro-lock is? If not you better learn about it because it is very expensive, especially in a modular motor that has limited rebuildability.

If you hydrolocked it you s.o.l. Drain the oil asap and look for water, you may have gotten some of the electronics wet so let it sit for a while and see if it dries out.

Id bet it to be a sensor somewhere on the motor. Let it dry out for a day or so and i bet itll fix itself.

Could it be a coil pack or a fouled plug?

pull out the air filter and try and drive it! If it runs correct then there is your issue! I has that issue also!! Went through 3 factory filters! Then upgrades to a K&N

the intake was never submerged as far as I know. could it be that the MAF is wet?
