Default Is it possible...

...to pull off the air filter box/maf and run the truck with nothing upstream of the throttle body?

Do these trucks have an open-loop sort of mode to make that possible?
Could make life easier when trying to do an intake cleaning.

Thx.

I don't see why not. I assume it will give you a check engine light for the MAF being unhooked.

Two thoughts on this.
1) If the system works anything like a 10th gen. you'll need an assistant to run the throttle. A 10 gen won't idle without a MAF. I'm aware that we're talking cable vs. drive-by-wire but I'm referring to it from a sensory/feedback standpoint.

2) If you're talking about the throttle body when you say "intake cleaning", I hesitate to put a significant amount of cleaning spray, along with the dissolved gunk that results, past the O2 sensors and into the cats. I much prefer to pull the TB and do it at the bench.

"intake cleaning" means hopefully everything from the throttle body to the valves. Now, i just gotta make it to a Mopar dealer for their foaming intake cleaner...
