popped headlights open. tips for glue removal?
So I'm working in my Harley headlight project, but I'm seriously having hell getting the rest of the glue out of the deep crevice! Bit of backstory, I have a gas stove. Didn't put the cardboard in because it would have caught fire. Tried baking sweet potato fries the next day, glue was still in the stove. Next thing I know, the house is billowing with smoke from the glue. Needless to say, I don't think I'm going to be baking anymore headlights. Lol! I bought a razor scraper, but still having trouble. Any of you DIY'ers have some advice?
lol do you need advice on getting glue off the headlights??? or the stove? you might need to go to a home&garden forum for that lol. just kidding you could always try gogone, alcohol, acetone. just don't use your oven to bake for at least a day or two.
Lol luckily the glue was still liquidy and i had a paint scraper nearby to get that gunk off. The fragrance was a bit rough, ill tell ya that. Haha I was thinking goo-gone, but I don't know what might damage the plastic housing and the lens itself.
Get some acetone and q tips. Take your time and the glue will come right off. I used this method when people would super glue their lenses in their glasses frame when a lens popped out. The acetone will dissolve the glue and will not damage your headlight as long as you dont have alot of run over.
