Hate to be a broken record, but they cannot effectively load test a battery unless it has a full charge.
Did you charge it before taking it in?
I'm with Especial on this, a battery is only as good as its weakest cell. Your dim lights is a dead give-away.
If the lights were nice and bright but everything else was wonky, I'd look elsewhere, but dim lights = dead battery 99.999999 percent of the time.

I charged it slightly before I took it in. They tested it and said it was good. He then said that it needed 25 min to charge fully and they would test it again. I waited and they ran the test again and it tested good again. I'm all on board with it being the battery but just to make sure I'm gonna drive the truck up there and have them do a load test on the alt. the battery is fully charged and I've been able to start it through out the night with the lights and everything running strong.
I haven't left it running for longer than 10 min or so tonight just to make sure it will make the trip up to oreilys.

Once upon a time I had a car that the battery kept going dead very quickly as it sat. Turned out the positive cable had rubbed on the frame until it wore through the insulation and was shorting out.
The fact that with a full charge everything works as it should certainly limits the problem to a very specific area.
At this point, testing the alternator is the right move.
